In the second half it was a different story. With 11 minutes left in the game, Trinidad State was able to cut the deficit to single digits after a bucket plus the foul by Devin Davenport to make it a 64-55 ballgame.

With eight minutes on the clock, the Trojans made it one-point game as they trailed 66-65. With just over 5 minutes remaining, Davenport gave the Trojans a lead with a jump shot to take a 69-67 lead.

Both sides battled to the finish as the Broncos were able to regain the lead with 47 seconds reaming after Joseph Thomas nailed a deep three to give the Broncos a 78-77 lead. After a NMMI timeout, Trinidad State scored the game-winner as Lateef Patrick floated in a shot from just inside the free throw line.
