While he was born in Oxford, England, Steve Rogers calls Roswell his home. He graduated from Goddard High School and then Eastern New Mexico University.

He has been employed as a 911 Dispatch Supervisor for the last 13 years and is a 10-year veteran of the United State Marine Corps.

Rogers spent 15 years as a little league coach, including three years in Europe. He and Charlie Ward have worked together for more than 20 years, including from 2000 to the present with the Colt baseball squad.

In 2012, he was the catcher’s coach for the Broncos program.

With the Colt baseball team, he won back-to-back Class 3A state championships in 2000 and 2001 and, along with Ward, coached the South All-Stars in the 2004 and 2010 New Mexico High School Coaches Association North/South 3A All-Star game.

He took the Colts to the regional playoffs from 2000-2002, the first round of state playoffs in 2003, 2007-08, 2010, and 2014-16, the state quarterfinals in 2006, 2008, and 2011-2013, and the state semifinals in 2014.
