| Title: | Assistant Coach |
Otero is in his fifth year as a high school baseball coach and currently serves on the Varsity and JV coaching staff for the NMMI Colts. He began his coaching career at Goddard High School, where he first developed his passion for teaching and mentoring student-athletes.
Over the past five years, Otero has grown as a coach, mentor, and leader, with an emphasis on building strong fundamentals, baseball IQ, mental toughness, and discipline. Above all, he is committed to creating meaningful relationships with his players and fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and brotherhood in which athletes feel both supported and challenged to be their best.
A lifelong player from Dexter, Otero competed at a high level and earned numerous honors during his playing career. He was named District 4 3A Player of the Year, selected to participate in the North vs. South All-Star Game, and received multiple All-District and tournament recognitions. As a pitcher who played every position except first base, Otero developed a well-rounded understanding of the game and the importance of versatility, dependability, and a team-first mindset.
Otero is proud of his supportive family, including his fiancée, Kareli; his two sisters, Arianna and Alynna; his two brothers, Anthony and Job; and his parents, Rene and Wendy Otero, and Jeannette and Liam Griffin.
