Bready, Williams and Murphy named to All-Conference team

Three New Mexico Military Institute Bronco basketball players were named to the Western Junior College Athletic Conference's All-Conference team.

Sophomore guard Latik Murphy and sophomore guard/forward Chris Bready were named All-Conference while freshman guard Isaiah Williams earned honorable mention.

Murphy also landed a spot on the All-Region V team list.

Appearing in 25 games, Murphy averaged a team-high 16.5 points per game while shooting 83.7 percent from the free throw line.

On nine occasions, he scored 20 or more points.

Murphy scored a season-high 26 points, which was accomplished twice on Jan. 17 during a 70-66 win over Midland College and during a 94-90 win over Western Texas College on Feb. 21.

He grabbed a season-best 10 rebounds during a Nov. 8 victory over Mesa Community College.

Bready was also one of NMMI's top scorers, averaging 13.5 points per game in 31 games played.

His best game came against Otero Junior College, when he scored a season-best 25 points. Bready had a repeat performance during a 99-86 win over Monroe College as he posted 25 points while tallying three assists.

Williams was a big contributor, averaging 12 points a game. His season-best 23 points came during the Monroe victory.

He also led the Broncos with 64 three-pointers.

NMMI finished the year 18-13 overall. The Broncos made an appearance in the Region V tournament semifinals for the first time since 2001.
