Broncos fall to Texans, 93-71

The Bronco Basketball squad dropped their second-straight conference matchup Monday night at Cahoon Armory, falling behind South Plains College early on the way to a 93-71 loss.
 
There were whistles aplenty from the officials, as the Texans attempted 55 free throws, converting 34. The Broncos made 17-of-30.
 
Sophomore guard/forward Keon Baker led the way for the Broncos, scoring 24 points, including 18 of NMMI's 28 first-half points. Baker went 3-of-4 from behind the arc and sunk 9-of-13 from the charity stripe. 
 
Freshman guard/forward Aaron Williams Jr. had nine points and hit two of his three 3-pointers and sophomore point guard Keondre Newman added seven points and had two assists.
 
The Broncos' season scoring and rebounds leader, Quentin Bolton, was held to seven points and six boards.
 
The Texans finished the game with five players in double digits, including a game-high 28 from sophomore guard Jaden Harris.
 
The Broncos are back in action Thursday night in Clarendon, TX to take on the Bulldogs at 6 p.m. CST. The next home contest takes place Monday at 6:30 p.m. MST against the Howard Hawks.
