    HUTCHINSON, KS – The New Mexico Military Institute Bronco volleyball team closed out the season with a trio of wins at the 2019 NJCAA D1 Women’s National Championships to finish as the ninth best junior college team in the country.
  • Broncos drop five-set heartbreaker in first round of nats

    The New Mexico Military Institute Bronco volleyball team lost their first-round match in the NJCAA National Championships to eighth-seeded Hillborough Community College in a five-set heartbreaker. The No. 9 Broncos won the first set 25-19, but then let the Hawks take sets two and three with scores just as close: 20-25 and 18-25. NMMI rallied back to force a fifth set with a 25-20 win in the fourth, but fell five points shy in the final, 15-10. With the loss, NMMI drops down to the consolation bracket. They will face Monroe College at 12:00 PM CST on Friday. The No. 16 Mustangs lost to top-seeded Navarro in four sets in their nationals opener.
  • Bronco volleyball earns bid to Nationals!

    The team that wins the Region V West Volleyball Championships earns an automatic bid to nationals. The New Mexico Military Institute Broncos have won that title and gone to the NJCAA D1 Women's Volleyball Championships for the past three years straight, and five out of the last six.

    The New Mexico Military Institute Bronco volleyball team kept their perfect record unblemished, but it took a full five sets to down the visiting New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds, moving 5th-ranked NMMI to a 13-0 overall record and their first win in conference play.

    The Bronco volleyball team got to enjoy a rare week off from action, but that didn’t stop another pair of honors from being given to the undefeated NMMI squad: defensive specialist/libero Ha’ahulakaleikaimana “Hula” Crisostomo was named Defensive Player of the Week for both the Region V and at the NJCAA DI level overall; and the team is ranked No. 5 nationally, for the second week in a row.
  • Broncos go 2-0 in opening day of NMMI Classic

    The Bronco volleyball team won both of their Day 1 matches in the 12th Annual NMMI Classic Volleyball Tournament, downing Scottsdale Community College in three close sets (25-19, 26-24, 25-19) in their 1:00 PM season-opener on Friday, Aug. 23, then outlasted Hutchinson Community College for a four-set win in a 7:00 PM nightcap (25-23, 21-25, 25-10, 25-14).
