Colt tennis coach John Barbour is a native of Roswell and a 1991 graduate of NMMI high school.

He played one season of junior college soccer at NMMI before attending Texas Tech University. Barbour received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University in 2007.

In addition to his coaching duties, Barbour is a Troop Leadership Advisor for Alpha Troop at NMMI, and has been very active in the Roswell Youth Soccer program for many years. 

He played competitively in an indoor soccer league in Lubbock for nine years. Prior to coaching at NMMI, he assisted coach James Vernon at Roswell High School.
