The New Mexico Military Institute Colt tennis team continued their winning ways by downing visiting Piedra Vista High School, 8-1. The Lady Colts lost 6-3 to the Panthers.
It was the 10th dual-match win of the season for the undefeated Colts, which includes matches against several larger 5A and 6A opponents.
“Our veteran players played well and our younger players played exceptionally,” said NMMI head coach John Barbour. “We’ve still got some tactical and technical improvements to make, but we’re getting better each day and I’m proud of both of our teams, boys’ and girls’, for playing up against tough competition like 6A Piedra Vista.”
Both NMMI teams will be back in action next Tuesday, but on the road at Artesia to take on the 5A Bulldogs in a 3 pm scheduled dual match.
