Colts compete in swimming meet in Hobbs

The New Mexico Military Institute boys and girls swimming teams competed in the Hobbs Invitational held at The Core in Hobbs, NM.

The event featured seven schools including Alamogordo, Artesia, Clovis, Hobbs, Lovington, Carlsbad, and NMMI.

Boys Swimming Results

In the boys 200 yard medley relay freestyle race the Colts finished third with a time of 1:57.51. The Colts that were in the relay were Garret Bundrant, Ryan Correia, Gunnar Schwab, Jake Leible

Schwab had the fastest time out of 26 competitors in the 50 yard freestyle as he posted a 23.60 lap. Schwab also finished second in the 100 yard freestyle with a mark of 53.93.

Jeremy Pinon was third in the 500 yard freestyle collecting a time of 6:05.99.

In the 100 yard backstroke Garret Bundrant won the event out of eight swimmers with a time of 1:10.50.

The boys team totals for the event were:  1, Hobbs, 172; 2, Carlsbad, 83; 3, Clovis, 81; 4, NMMI, 73; 5, Alamogordo,  45; 6, Lovington, 17; 7, Artesia, 4.
