Peter Dindinger enters his second year as the Sports Information Assistant at NMMI.

Dindinger, a native of El Paso, Texas, is a 2008 graduate of Coronado High School. He later obtained a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology Sport Science in 2013 from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

He was a student assistant for the Sul Ross baseball team before spending three years as a staff photographer and sportswriter for the Skyline Newspaper, a student news publication. Dindinger went on to win 21 Texas Intercollegiate Press Association awards for his work in photojournalism.

Upon graduation from college, Dindinger was hired as a sportswriter for the Alamogordo Daily News in Alamogordo, New Mexico, on December 23, 2013. He spent four years covering four high schools in Otero County. In addition, he also covered the former White Sands Pupfish of the Pecos League along with breaking news, community events and courtroom hearings.

He won four New Mexico Press Association awards for his work in sportswriting and sports photography during his tenure at the Daily News.

Dindinger moved on to the Odessa American in Odessa, Texas, in March 2018. He spent a year in the Permian Basin covering 19 schools as the area beat writer during football season in addition to rodeo, the Midland RockHounds, golf, a variety of prep sports, Odessa College, UT-Permian Basin, and the Midland-Odessa Sockers FC.

He returned home to El Paso where he became a freelance sportswriter and photographer, stringing games for the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Las Cruces Sun-News and Hobbs News-Sun.
