The Lady Colt varsity basketball team improved their record to 2-0, taking their second straight game at home with a win over Roswell High's 'C' team, 42-16.

NMMI started the game with a 7-0 run, and never looked back, outscoring the Lady Coyotes in every quarter save the third.

"I really liked the intensity we had in the first half tonight. We played smart and under control from the very beginning," said head coach Marisha Olesinski.

The Lady Colt fast break was working to perfection, earning several easy buckets with quick passes up the court after missed Roswell shots.

"We were looking ahead, seeing the open players up the court, making good passes, and getting good shots," explained coach Olesinski.

The only Achilles heel for the Institute on the night was a slow third quarter where the NMMI offense managed just three points, while giving up eight to the Lady Coyotes.

"We did the same thing on our first game on Monday - didn't play well in the third," said coach. "That's just something we'll have to work on improving."

Top scorer for the Institute was Tsosie with 22 points; Notah and Dee Ulibarri each had eight.

NMMI's next game will be on the road against Gateway Christian, but that won't happen until after the Thanksgiving break. Tip-off at the Warrior Athletic Center is slated for 5:30 P.M. on Nov. 30.
