Broncos get first conference win of season behind 27 point effort from Francis

The New Mexico Military Institute Bronco basketball team defeated Midland College 61-55 on Monday night in Midland, TX. This win is the first conference win for the Broncos on the season.  

NMMI shot 20-44 (45.5%) from the field and 6-13 (46.2%) from beyond the arc. The Broncos scored 19 points off of turnovers compared to Midlands 9  

Isiah Francis led the way scoring wise for the Broncos with 27 points. Three Broncos tied with nine points including Keith Deloatch, Kaleb Hicks, and Jordan-Reece George. Hicks led the Broncos in rebounds with seven and Deloatch led in steals with four.  

Head Bronco Basketball Coach Sean Schooley was ecstatic for the guys in the way they played tonight.  

Coach Schooley said, "Very proud of the effort tonight! Road wins are extremely difficult to come by in this conference. I hope the guys turned the corner and now know they can compete for 40 minutes instead of 20.  

The Broncos will be home for their next matchup against Frank Phillips College on Thursday (1/17) at 6:30 PM in Cahoon Armory Gym.
