Hicks double-double effort not enough to clip Odessa

The New Mexico Military Institute Bronco basketball team fell to Odessa College 71-58 in Odessa, TX on Monday.  

The Broncos got off to a great start in the first half as they shot 38.7% from the field to take a lead into the half of 30-28. The second half was not as good for the Broncos as they only hit 23.5% from the field, but still putting up 28 points in the second half as they fell to their conference foe 71-58. 

The Broncos shot 30.8% from the field on the night. The leading scorer for the Broncos was Isiah Thomas with 15 points. Kaleb Hicks collected a double-double with 13 points and a team high 11 rebounds.  

Head Bronco Basketball Coach Sean Schooley had nothing but praise for his team on their performance. 

Schooley said, "I am very proud of the team's effort in this game. The guys worked their tails off; a bounce here and a bounce there and we could be talking about a victory." 

NMMI's next home game is Thursday, Jan. 10 vs. South Plains College at 6:30 PM MST in the Cahoon Armory Gym.
