The New Mexico Military Institute Colts lost a shootout on Saturday to visiting Cobre High School, 48-33.
NMMI was tapped as the No. 7 seed in the 12-team NMAA Class AAA Football State Championship bracket, earning a first-round home game against the No. 10 Cobre Indians.

The Demons took advantage of a couple pick-sixes in the first half of play to give them an early lead, but the Colts mounted a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Demons 18-7.

The New Mexico Military Institute Colt football team moved to 5-1 on the season, defeating the visiting Loving Falcons 48-27 at Colt Field on Friday.
The Colts scored on their opening drive with Arturo Cuen punching the ball into the end zone for the first of his two one-yard plunges into paydirt. That capped a seven-play 78-yard drive. After the PAT by EuJuan Kim the Institute led 7-0 with 9:17 to go in the first quarter.

The New Mexico Military Institute Colt football team improved to 3-0 on the year with a 32-21 victory over the Texico Wolverines at Colt Field on Friday night.
The NMMI football team put up 21 points in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a slow start, as the Hatch Valley Bears bested the Colts in the opening round of the NMAA’s Class 3A State Playoffs, 44-21.
NMMI head coach Randy NMMI and his Colt football team are back in the playoffs for their fifth time in six years.
This season the Colts have put together a solid 6-4 overall record, earning the No. 10 seed in the twelve-team NMAA Class 3A State Championship bracket. They’ll face the No. 7 Hatch Valley Bears, on the road, on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1:00 PM.
