This will be Geoff Gunn's 10th year serving as the Sports Information Director for the New Mexico Military Institute. 

'Gunner' grew up in Roswell and played baseball and football for the Goddard Rockets.

After a prolonged and enjoyable collegiate career as a student at New Mexico State University, Gunn completed enough classes to get a bachelor's in english literature. Although he graduated with 271 credit hours he was unable to get even a single minor out of it.

He tried his hand at landscaping as a part-owner of Rio Grande Landscapes in Belen, did more landscaping and climbed tall trees while wielding a chainsaw for Baca's Trees in Albuquerque and then returned home to act as information technology consultant for his brother-in-law's new fitness center.

Gunn got his start at NMMI by working athletic events with former NMMI SID Chris Fudge by running the scoreboard, keeping stats and creating game programs. Then, when Fudge left to persue a family business opportunity, he beat out at least three other candidates for the SID job.
