Cory Bergman was appointed as Director of Strength and Conditioning at New Mexico Military Institute in June 2019.

Bergman takes over the NMMI Strength and Conditioning department after a stint as assistant strength and conditioning coach with the AAF Orlando Apollos under head coach Steve Spurrier. With the Apollos, Bergman was responsible for aiding the head strength and conditioning coach in technique and program development, implementation of daily recovery and nutrition, and helped foster a culture that developed genuine and enduring relationships amongst the players and staff within the organization.

Bergman previously worked at the University of Central Florida as a strength and conditioning intern primarily with football and also assisted with baseball, soccer and cheerleading.  His responsibilities included maintaining sports performance facilities, aiding the strength and conditioning coaches in various aspects of coaching technique and program development and assisted in collection of player data via Catapult.

Bergman is a graduate of the University of Central Florida receiving both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Sport and Exercise Science with a focus in Exercise Physiology. He also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
